The China-OECD LLM Programme on Taxation is an unprecedented international tax law program that combines the study of professional knowledge with the development of practical skills.
After completing my undergraduate studies, I hope to pursue further specialization in the field of law. International taxation is a rapidly growing major, and in the context of China’s continuous efforts by the country to promote high-level openness to the outside world, along with the ongoing development of the Belt and Road international cooperation, the demand for highly skilled and qualified professionals in international taxation is bound to increase significantly.

The COTP program fills the gap in the training of domestic and international tax law professionals, and the course content is very attractive, covering: Tax Treaties, Transfer Pricing, Anti-Tax Avoidance Laws and Rules, BEPS Project, Two-Pillar Solution, Economics and International Economics Relating to Taxation, Fundamentals of Financial and Tax Accounting, China Tax Primer, and Practical Study of Chinese Tax Policy and Administration.
XMU is one of the pioneers in the mainland China in the field of teaching and research in the international tax law. In addition, Xiamen University offers a highly appealing learning environment, and the COTP program provides the best learning environment and resources for domestic and international students. The professors of this programme are enthusiastic and generous, selflessly imparting their expertise and actively communicating with students to address any issues encountered in their academic and personal lives. Studying here is an exceptionally ideal and attractive experience.
This program offers a highly internationalized learning experience with abundant teaching resources. The faculty includes experts from the OECD, professors and scholars from renowned universities both domestically and internationally, as well as tax managers from the Big Four accounting firms and well-known multinational corporations. These tax professionals teach from completely different perspectives, providing a broadened view that is highly beneficial for studying international taxation. Additionally, my classmates include tax officials from different countries, and engaging in conversations and exchanges with them during leisure time has greatly contributed to my understanding of the profound significance of the Belt and Road Initiative and has exposed me to a wider range of international tax issues in practice.
In the future, I aspire to join China's tax department and specialize in the field of international taxation for work and research. I will apply the professional tax knowledge I have learned from the COTP program to practical work and continuously hone my skills and knowledge through practical experience. I aim to contribute to the enhancement of China's capacity in providing legal services in international affairs. I want to use what I have learned to serve society and my country.
I will highly recommend this program to students who are interested in delving deep into the field of international taxation. The COTP program offers a challenging learning experience, but it is definitely a challenge that one will not regret undertaking. As the saying goes, "Nothing is impossible to a willing heart."
